Declarative sentence - Aantonende wijs

Declarative sentences present statements, and are therefore different in form from questions and orders.

The finite verb always comes in second position in a Dutch declarative main clause. This position is pivotal (see sentence structure). In the declarative sentences below, the finite verb is red.

Ik heb nog geen e-mailadres.
I haven't got an e-mailaddress yet.

Dat moet ik nog krijgen.
I will still have to get that.
