The Südwestrundfunk ( SWR ) is a country-wide broadcaster. SWR1 primarily plays oldies and softer pop music, SWR2 offers the cultural program, SWR3 popradio, and SWR4 mainly pop music.

Live 1 (WDR) plays mainly mainstream titles during the day; German newcomers are given special attention. 1 Live also organizes various parties and concerts including the Music Prize 1 Live Krone for German artists, as well as the Newcomer Festival.
