BIGLOBE (ビッグローブ) (combination of the words "big" and "globe") is one of the leading internet service providers in Japan, operated by NEC BIGLOBE, Ltd., a 2006 spin-off from NEC. KDDI acquired the company in January 2017.

Google not only operates under its own domain at google.co.jp, but also is starting to provide most of the search results for Yahoo! Japan. In addition, it provides search results for goo, Biglobe, @nifty, Infoseek, Excite and Mooter.

TV Asahi began life as an educational television channel. By the 1970s TV Asahi had become a general-purpose television station, and aired a variety of shows including anime and foreign movies. TV Asahi currently airs a range of sports, news, children and teens, and variety programmes.

Nippon TV is a television network based in Tokyo, Japan. It is controlled by the Yomiuri Shimbun publishing company. Broadcasting terrestrially across Japan, the network is commonly known as Nihon Terebi (日本テレビ) and abbreviated as "NTV". The company has close connections with Studio Ghibli, led by Hayao Miyazaki, and holds the exclusive rights to broadcast their motion pictures.

NHK or 'Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai' is Japan's public broadcasting organisation, publicly owned and funded by viewers' payments of a television license fee. NHK operates two terrestrial television services (NHK General TV and NHK Educational TV), two satellite television services (NHK BS-1 and NHK BS Premium, and three radio networks (NHK Radio 1, NHK Radio 2, and NHK FM). NHK also provides an international broadcasting service, known as NHK World.
